Fall 2011

Hello All!

It has been a very busy fall for our little family.  We did a lot of traveling over the last month.  We spent 5 days in Washington D.C. with the Indiana Motor Truck Association.  We are so lucky to spend time with great friends in the trucking industry, and so grateful that Vada and I get to travel with Lance on these business trips.  We were so excited that my sister Haley was able to join us for 3 of the days and watch Vada in the evenings while Lance and I attended dinners and receptions.  Thanks Aunt Haley!!!  We were home for a week and made time to visit an apple orchard for some fun fall activities before heading to Dallas for another 5 days.  The American Trucking Association was held at the Gaylord Resort just outside of Dallas.  This is another great conference for Lance to network and represent Marvin Johnson on a national platform.  Vada and I enjoyed the warm weather by the pool and visiting with old friends who I used to work with in Dallas at Stryker.  My friend Megan even babysat one evening so Lance and I could attend a banquet.

As soon as we got back, my sister Heidi and her family welcomed their new addition into the world.  Crew Francis was born on October 7th.  We are so excited for their family and especially big sister Landrie.  We were able to meet Crew this past weekend when we were home for my cousin Natalie's wedding.  It was a great weekend with family celebrating the new baby boy and a new life for Natalie and Tyler!!  Congrats!

We have thoroughly enjoyed the nice fall weather and being outside these past couple of months. Vada and I have also really enjoyed our mom's group, MOPS, as it has started back up.  We have been doing a lot of play dates and activities with our friends.

Vada is right at 22 lbs and has curls like her daddy did.  Her little personality is just darling!  She loves using utensils at meal time; finding sticks for Andi (the dog) in the yard; any playground with a slide or swing; her Daddy; taking her shoes and socks off while in the car; saying "Momma, Dada, Ball, Dog, Boc Boc (as in a chicken sound) and NO!"; showing us her nose, tongue, eyes ears etc; riding her battery operated 4-wheeler and Aunt Holli.  Tomorrow is Halloween and we will be showing off our little flower in the neighborhood.  Here are some pictures from our adventures over the last couple of months.  Enjoy!

Vada met a new friend (16 wk old miniature bulldog) in a store in D.C.  Random ppl stopped to take a picture of these two - too cute!
Aunt Holli stayed with us for a week in September...we just LOVE having her!
