Where does the time go?!?!

CANNOT believe it is August!  Also CANNOT believe my last post was in April!!!  I've been meaning to write an update for months...honestly!

Our evenings are filled with an eventful dinner, crazy bath time and bedtime followed by a lot of decisions for the new house.  Thinking of writing a blog post after that routine hasn't been possible.  So here I am on a Wednesday night in August and the only reason I have a couple of minutes is because Lance is out of town and both kids were beyond tired.  I have a TON to report since April.  Sully is now 1 and Vada is 3!  (We can't believe it!)  Our new house is on schedule to be completed at the end of September and our Loretta house is back on the market after a previous offer fell through.  The best part about our crazy summer while building a new home is that Lance and I still love one another and I think we will be moving into the new house together:)  Truthfully, it has actually been a joy to watch the new house go up and to watch Lance be completely smitten with the whole project is well worth all the painful decisions.

Our Sully man is weighing in at 27lbs and holding steady.  He is just a doll and looks a lot like his daddy.  We may be biased, but we are certain the kid has better hand/eye coordination than most adults.  We will keep you posted as the college recruitment letters come in;)  We had a birthday celebration for him in Greenville at Gary and LaJeanne's house.  Our handsome fellow loved the attention and the cake.  Thank you to Coach and Mimi Riegle for hosting.  Sullivan adores his sister and any food put in front of him.  We are trying to break hair pulling and toilet splashing at the moment.  He has been walking since around 11 months and is borderline running.  Everyone always says it, but until you experience the energy of a boy you never get the true sense.  He is into everything Vada wasn't.  Sully also loves to be outside, playing with anything that includes a ball, popsicles and did I mention food?!?!  He enjoys standing on chairs or tables, pounding on anything that will make noise and his momma!  Call me crazy, but I really enjoy being the "one" he wants right now.  I truly am soaking in the fact I am his first love:)  I will include his first year monthly pictures in a separate post so you can see how much our little man has changed over the last year.

Vada turned 3 in July but we thought maybe she just went straight to 13.  We have noticed a bit of an attitude as of lately, but hoping like everything else, it is just a phase.  We had her birthday party at a gymnastics facility here in Indy with a few of her friends.  It was fun to reminisce about bringing her home from the hospital 3 years ago and what joy she has brought us.  She got a scooter for her birthday and really enjoys being outside riding that or her bike.  She is a big helper with her little brother and is already so motherly.  If she gets a snack she is sure to have enough to share and is really very kind to him until he pulls her hair or messes up her baby dolls.  We have loved catching a couple of videos of her reading to him lately which totally warms our hearts. Vada also loves popsicles this summer and any and all fruit.  Currently her favorite restaurant is Cracker Barrel where she can devour an entire plate of dumplings by herself.  After she turned 3 I am no longer allowed to sing without her covering her ears and saying "Mommy stop singing!!!"  Recently she traded in Dora for Doc McStuffins...we aren't really bummed!  Vada is really looking forward to her new room at the new house with her new big girl bed...mommy and daddy are too:)  We have been sleeping three wide in a queen size bed for awhile now! Oops!

Since April the kids and I were able to spend a few days with my family in Florida; we did a road trip to Nebraska to spend time with the Riegle/Booth family and a couple of days with my sister Heidi, her family and the newest Sutton, Maebrie Marie:)  Vada and Sullivan enjoyed spending time with all of their cousins while on our tour.  It is so neat to watch the relationships and memories start with our siblings and their children.  Lance and I also celebrated our 5 year anniversary in June and are enjoying our "Summer of Fun".

The next couple of months for us are going to be even busier than the last couple.  We will hopefully be selling our current house and moving to our new house.  Such a fun and crazy time in our lives!!!
