Our apologizes as we have been slacking on the blog updates this summer. Please enjoy our update...
June took us on a spur of the moment trip to Hilton Head with our friends Matt, Mindy and Gibson Steyer and Matt's parents for a 4 day adventure. Vada loved the beach and playing with her good friend Gibson.
This is a great shot of Vada eating. Her new favorite foods include, but not limited to: black olives (so she can stick her finger in the middle hole before putting it in her mouth), avocados, anything with cheese, black beans, all fruit, ice cream (any flavor) and all things potato.
We were visited by my college roommate Mandi in the middle of June. She was a huge help with Vada and so much fun to have around. We also hosted my mom's sister, Aunt Jeannie for a week. Vada really enjoyed all of the company.
We spent the end of June traveling to and from Greenville to be with family as my Uncle Rhys went to be with the Lord. Thank you for any and all prayers for Uncle Rhys and our family. Please continue to lift up Aunt Pam, Amanda and Natalie and Tyler for strength and courage. As Uncle Rhys passed, he had a smile on his face. I can only imagine the sites and sounds that greeted him in heaven. The thought of him being in heaven, pain free and no longer suffering sure does give us comfort. We celebrated his life at a golf outing over the 4th of July. It was great to be home with family and friends.
We celebrated Vada's 1st Birthday here in Indy with family the second weekend in July. I know every parent rants about how quickly time seems to go after having a little one, but it truly has been the best year of our lives. We had a great day celebrating V's first year!
We were back in Greenville again on the 23rd of July for a celebration of life for our little friend Greyson Steyer who went to heaven in January. We are so blessed to know his family. The carnival themed event was a perfect day to remember Greyson and observe God's children having fun. Here is a picture of Vada in front of the beach backdrop:)
Aunt Holli spent last week with us here in Indy. We ALL love having her here, but she and Vada have a very special relationship! It is so fun to watch them laugh and play together. We went swimming a couple of days (anyone who knows Holli, knows how much she loves that) and we made it to the Children's Museum another day.
Today our lives have changes a little bit more! Vada has been on the verge of walking, but today is it official! We were able to get a couple of short videos we will upload soon. I am sure she will be running by the end of the week:) Please pray for us!
